Michael Kozeliski, President & CEO
Michael has a diverse background incorporating a wide variety of experiences. He is originally from New Mexico and graduated in 1995 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with minors in Mathematics, Economics, Business Management and Environmental Waste Management from New Mexico State University, where he was also elected student body president in 1995. Upon graduation from college Michael held a number of different positions within the US Government working in the executive and legislative branches of the federal government.Following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 Michael choose to leave Washington D.C. to enter the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia. In June 2002, he accepted a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marines and was assigned to field artillery school in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following graduation of artillery officer basic school he was assigned to the 1st Marine Division. In June 2004, then 2nd Lt. Kozeliski served as platoon commander of a 105-howitzer platoon conducting ceremonial salutes honoring for former President Ronald Reagan. In August of 2004 Michael was promoted to First Lieutenant and deployed with Battery G, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines as a provisional rifle platoon commander in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was subsequently assigned Battery Operations Officer where he planned, coordinated, and monitored 472 combat patrols. Also during his first tour Michael coordinated and established two separate Iraqi National Elections sites in the Al Anbar province, and led the Battalion Information Operations Campaign coordinating local economic improvements and facilitating funding and contracts to support the local Iraqi Security Force operations.
In December 2005 Michael volunteered for a second combat tour and deploy as a part of Military Transition Team (MiTT) Team assigned as the Company Adviser/Fires and Effects Officer. During his second tour Michael was embedded in a company of the Iraqi Army and advised them on patrolling tactics, combined arms, and combat planning. During his second tour he participated in over 200 combat patrols seeing significant action. During this time he was regularly published as a military advisor in several US newspapers and cable television networks.
In 2007 Michael was promoted to the rank of Captain and served as Battalion Intelligence Officer for 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment before being honorably discharged.
Captain Michael A. Kozeliski has been awarded the Purple Heart, Navy Commendation Medal with combat distinguishing devise, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
During his transition from the U.S. Marines, Michael began to research cloud computing and the effects it will have on the future of the internet. In 2008, Michael founded Prepfire Solutions, LLC to pursue technology solutions for federal and state level government agencies and private sector companies.
